ABOUT CURTIS PELLETIER

Mental Performance Coach. Former Pro Athlete. Scout. Leader Builder.

I do not teach motivation.
I teach how to think under pressure.

For over two decades I have lived inside high performance environments as a player, a scout, a recruiter, a coach, a GM, and now as a mental performance specialist. I have seen what separates talent from longevity. I have seen what breaks athletes. I have seen what creates leaders. And I have seen how fast confidence disappears when the mental game is not trained properly.

This work is not theory to me.
It is lived.

MY PATH THROUGH THE GAME

I grew up in competitive sport. Baseball became my proving ground. It taught me discipline, pressure, failure, leadership, and accountability long before I ever understood psychology.

I played at elite levels, including:

  • Professional Baseball

  • College World Series Championship

  • Canadian National Team

At the highest levels, talent stops separating people.
Mindset does.

After my playing career, I moved into:

  • Scouting

  • Player evaluation

  • Recruiting

  • Coaching

  • Organizational development

  • Player performance consulting

I worked directly inside professional baseball environments as a scout with the Miami Marlins and the Chicago Cubs. I evaluated players for tools, makeup, coachability, emotional regulation, confidence under pressure, and identity under stress. I sat in rooms where decisions were made that changed entire careers.

I am also a 70.3 Ironman finisher, using the same mental performance systems I teach every athlete.

I saw this truth over and over again:
The players who lasted were not always the most talented.
They were the most mentally stable under pressure.

THE RECRUITING AND DEVELOPMENT SIDE

I have worked extensively with:

  • Youth athletes

  • High school prospects

  • College recruits

  • Professional players

  • Parents navigating the recruiting process

  • Coaches building culture

I understand:

  • Exposure pressure

  • Scholarship stress

  • Commitment anxiety

  • Performance identity collapse

  • Social media comparison

  • Parent driven expectation overload

  • Fear of failure at the next level

I do not coach athletes through systems built on hype.
I coach them through systems built on structure.

WHY I SHIFTED FULLY INTO MENTAL PERFORMANCE

I watched too many talented athletes:

  • Spiral after one bad game

  • Lose their confidence after one mistake

  • Over train physically while under training mentally

  • Attach their identity to stats

  • Break under expectation

Nobody was teaching them:

  • How to regulate emotion

  • How to control self talk

  • How to process failure

  • How to reset quickly

  • How to stay disciplined when confidence drops

So I built the system I wish every athlete had access to when I was playing.

That system became Mindset U.

MY EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGY BACKGROUND

My work today is supported by formal training in:

  • Psychology

  • Behavioral science

  • Performance psychology foundations

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Cognitive and emotional control under stress

I study:

  • Performance anxiety

  • Attention control

  • Emotional regulation

  • Identity formation

  • Pressure response

  • Habits and discipline

  • Motivation systems

  • Confidence architecture

But I never let education replace experience.
It sharpens it.

WHAT MAKES MY WORK DIFFERENT

Most mental coaching is soft.
Most sports psychology stops when emotion gets uncomfortable.
Most programs ignore identity completely.

My work is built on:

  • Pressure realism

  • Behavioural accountability

  • Identity first, performance second

  • Discipline before confidence

  • Process before outcome

  • Nervous system training, not motivational highs

This is not hype psychology.
This is operational mindset.

MINDSET U

Mindset U is my flagship mental performance system.

It is built for:

  • Athletes who want consistent confidence

  • Players who struggle with pressure

  • Teams needing emotional stability

  • Leaders being shaped inside sport

  • Pros who need clarity under scrutiny

  • Youth athletes learning discipline early

Inside Mindset U athletes train:

  • Self talk

  • Visualization

  • Emotional control

  • Breathing Techniques

  • Focus and attention

  • Leadership identity

  • Competitive discipline

  • Failure recovery

  • Process Creation

  • Game day routines

  • Confidence construction

It is not motivational.
It is corrective.

MY RELATIONSHIPS IN THE GAME

Over the years I have built strong relationships across:

  • College programs

  • Professional organizations

  • High level coaches

  • Strength and performance coaches

  • Scouts and recruiters

  • Player development staff

  • Youth baseball leadership

I speak the language of:

  • Locker rooms

  • Recruiting boards

  • Draft rooms

  • Player development systems

  • High expectation environments

I coach within reality, not fantasy.

THE REALITY MOST ATHLETES DO NOT HEAR

You will fail publicly.
You will doubt yourself privately.
Your confidence will be tested constantly.
Your identity will wobble.
Your discipline will disappear at times.

The athletes who survive are not tougher.
They are clearer.

They know who they are without their last game.
They understand pressure instead of fearing it.
They control emotion instead of reacting to it.
They separate performance from identity.

That is what I teach.

MY ROLE TODAY

Today I work with:

  • Youth athletes

  • High school prospects

  • College players

  • Professional athletes

  • Full teams

  • Organizations

  • Coaches

  • Parents navigating pressure with their children

I do not chase volume.
I coach depth.

Athletic talent opens the door.
Your mind decides how long you stay in the room.

If you want to build:

  • Unshakeable confidence

  • Emotional control under pressure

  • Leadership identity

  • Discipline that does not depend on motivation

Then you are in the right place.
